Below is the newest wand completed. An Olwen wand in Apple. I didn't measure it before sending it on, but the diameter
is less then 1/2 in.
When I sat down holding the wood, trying to figure out what it wanted. Yes, I work with the
wand. I let the piece give me hints of its nature; especially if it isn't for a custom request. Received
were feelings of excitement, of beginning, of starting, of fruitation...My first thought was of Spring, of the first buds
that stretch from the ground.
The next step was to research what Goddess covered Spring & linked with Fruit Woods. There really were quite
a few to choose from, so holding the wand and keeping myself open to it, I read through the list and discriptions of the Goddess.
The Apple really like Olwen. So, Olwen it was.
Once that decision was made, it was time to look into the Goddess Olwen and find out what symbols were associated with
her. Yes, More research. What you see below is the final result. The Owl, The Wheel, and The Maiden
The Apple Wand is just over 18" in length. The bottom of the wand has an Owl holding a 5 spoked wheel,
with the Maiden standing above, holding a spiral crest. Above that is the Universal Spiral that travels up to the top.
No crystal.
